Name: Park (family name) Nam Il (given name)
Alignment: Neutral Good
Class: Noble, Scholar
Race: Human
Age: 28
Height: 5'10''
Weight: 160 lbs
Hair Color/Type: Black, short
Eye Color: Black
Place of Birth/Nationality: Fa-Rei (Sueonghanese descent)
Current Residence: Fa-Ten City
Physical Description:
Although clean, attractive and physically fit, Nam Il looks very unassuming and harmless to the average adventurer. With no sense of fashion of his own, he wears what he was last told is in style (usually by other nobles), and in the wilderness seems over-prepared.
Personality: Nam Il greatly favors knowledge and the pursuit of it. Life in nobility has given him manners, and life with the scholars has given him insight. He has a firm belief that most people are inherently good, even if they don’t show it. He sometimes trusts too much. Even for an aristocrat, and almost uncharacteristic of his nature, he is exceptionally good at lying, bluffing, and getting himself out of sticky situations through trickery. This seems to only appear during dire situations, however. Although his knees would tremble at the sight of danger, if it means saving a friend he will charge straight into it, screaming fearfully all the way. This unorthodox brand of courage has made him some good friends in the King's palace.
Positive Characteristics: kindhearted, humble, brave
Negative Characteristics: naive, conservative, meek
Adventurer Strengths: resourceful; full of connections with the government, knowledge of the terrain and sacred sites
Adventurer Weaknesses: absolutely no combat prowess, no mystic ability; absolutely normal.
Weapons: A small ceremonial dagger.
Clothing/Armor: Simple noble robes, and not much else.
Power Source: Natural (completely untrained)
Abilities:
-Political Intrigue- Nam Il gains a bonus to skills when dealing with political figures of your nation and others.
Scholarly- At character creation, and when Nam Il level ups, he gains double the amount of skill points.
-Rabbit's Gift: Nam Il is a surprisingly fast and far runner.
Usual Inventory: Standard adventuring equipment, federal traveling papers, maps, tomes, journals, simple artifacts, & a shamisen that he is pretty adept at playing.
Tactics/Combat Style: In danger, Nam Il tries to stay out of the way of the more-equipped fighters of the group, searching for cover wherever he may find it. If attacked, he will try to defend himself and lead the enemy into the path of one of his allies. Even after finding safety, he may still try to help his companions by calling out to or throwing stones and sticks at the enemies to distract them.
Origin/Backstory: Nam Il’s story is simple and humble; Born of Sueongha immigrants, his parents worked hard to enter the noble class of Fa-Rei and eventually working straight with its government. Nam Il lived a sheltered life of study and nobility, getting his first taste of freedom from a young Hengeyokai who would often visit him in and even take him out into the wilderness to play, in secret. He grew with an increased interest in the supernatural and the world outside the kingdom (even areas within the kingdom where federal forces have no sway), as well as history of Shyuu as a whole. After his parents’ accidental death, he continued to climb the social ladder until he became one of the Fa-Rei king’s personal advisors.
