If the old man was hiding anything, Akane could not sense it. He seemed simply at peace, even his chi was incredibly placid.

"Indeed. I don't see any harm in exploring this option," Tama says to Aeon. "Tell Akane we are on our way and that she can engage the monk if she feels comfortable doing so." Barely affording Tun Si a glance, Tama huffs ever so slightly at the two, albeit amused. She looks towards Aeon and Nergui, grateful that at least they know how to act as a unit, an appreciative smile forming on her face before she turns and urges her horse forward.

Soon enough, our heroes have gathered together once again, able to dry off within the shrine amidst the warm glow of candles and a giant statue of a sitting, peaceful prophet.
As the night sky parted, they were reminded of the purpose of their journey; the stars were once again an unsettling red.
Inside, Nam Il finishes up his paperwork for the day, and pulls out his shamisen from his pack, leaning by the wall and playing a quiet, serene tune.
[This is the last call to RPing before heading to bed and ending Day 2.]

Nergüi walked among the tethered horses, making sure they'd all been fed, watered, unsaddled, and brushed down. Once satisfied that the horses were taken care of, he sat down beside them and ate a rice ball, his interest in the red stars all but nonexistent.

"Excuse me sir. Is there a pond or a river near by?"

Akane sighed and went over to the tree she is going to stay in that night. She will have to look for something in the morning.
Akane looked up the tree to the nearest branch.
(Athletics [dice=20]+4=21)
Akane easily jumped in the tree and set her self against the tree. As she watched the group, she dug around her pack and brought out her rations to eat. She nibbled on some dried meat.[rand=853398204315453882251850957982249133623535744846368886127602309]

Nan Fa Ra Duk sat in his own little corner of the shrine. He listened to Nam Il play his instrument as he puffed softly on his pipe, letting the cherry scented smoke waft in the air.
"Hmmph," he grumbled as he pulled free his Qin, "I normally get paid to play but I can't let you butcher that tune like that."
His words were harsh but there was no venom in his voice and he played a sweet note in harmony to Nam Il's song.

Nam Il smiles lightly, and plays a little more heartily with Duk, the two's music sweetening the night.
"You know.." He starts, "We do not really know much about each other.." His words are most easily heard by those inside the shrine. "Perhaps we should learn more of each other. It's likely we'll be journeying together for a while, regardless of which instrument we are assigned to retrieve."

Aeon listens half heartedly to the conversation around him as he sits quietly and muses on the events of the day, specifically the psionic assassin they encountered. Rubbing his chin thoughtfully he realizes he hasnt shaved and smirks to himself imagining the lashings he would receive if he were to appear before his master with this stubble.
Aeon picks up a rock from outside and stares at it wondering if it would be possible to infuse something with so much psionic energy that it exploded, like he believes happened to their assailant.

[thanks for this, I may have to translate magic theory into a broader skill for magic, psionics, chi, etc. If anyone wants to rearrange skill points to accommodate for magic theory which will now be called Energy Theory or Energy Arts, let me know.]
Aeon: [success]
Sure enough, with some concentration Aeon found that he could implant the rock with his own psionic energy, albeit briefly and minimal to the point that no non-psionics would notice. However it occurred, psionics on an astronomical level was at work. For a moment, Aeon humored the idea of the Devas or Asura somehow being involved.

"I've never been outside Fa-Ten City, to be honest.."

"I still dont know who that woman was but I know what was done to her. Someone with a titanic amount of psychic power stuffed her full of it til she was fit to burst. I am talking a massive amount. I am no lightweight and I was barely able to energize that rock."
He motions to the rock he recently threw to the ground.
"The only beings that come to mind with that kind of power are the daevas."
Aeon lays down on his bedroll and closes his eyes.
"I need to think more on this. I am going to sleep. We should start very early tomorrow."

Before Nam Il can decipher the words of an artist, Aeon's thoughts brought a realization to our heroes: the world of humanity held no influence out here, in the wild. Even with two non-humans on their team, there were creatures and beings out there few have seen first hand, and even fewer have survived against.
Reflecting on this, Nam Il puts his things away and prepares for bed.

While the rest seemed to be nestling up for sleep, Tama stepped outside and began removing bits of her armor slowly and deliberately to make as little noise as possible. As she finished with one piece, she set it down next to her helmet in a neat bundle until all her armor was off. In a graceful movement, her arms shot up and her whole body shifted into a stretch until she suddenly dropped forward into a push-up position, doing a few dozen before standing back up again. Feeling a bit more energized, she walks towards the horses to retrieve a lantern tied to one of them. She notices Nergui but says nothing until after she's placed the lantern on the ground about 5 yards from the shrine entrance and lit it. An unusual urge to chit-chat with Nergui befell her at this point, probably because anything she'd ever learned about the man had been derived from unverified information and tall-tales. Under the pretense of fetching a blanket from one of the horses, she approached Nergui. "You should get some rest while you can. I'll be taking the first watch..."

He gestured to the surrounding night.
"With respect to the others, I'm more accustomed to this than they are. I'd intended to wake you or the Rhasampatran in about four hours' time."
The fact that he hadn't removed his armor or unstrung his bow indicated he was in no particular hurry to rest just yet.
"In any event, as our leader, you are the one who needs a clear head the most."
